Sweet Elise Cookie Class

February marked a big milestone for my tiny little side business. I have been wanting to teach a class for quite awhile, and was finally able to make the time to put one together. My background is in teaching, so it was really fun to combine my love of teaching and cookie decorating!

I had a group of 10 ladies join me on a recent Sunday afternoon to learn the ins and outs of making cut-out sugar cookies and royal icing. There was lots of practicing on how to outline and flood cookies, along with adding fun details. Everyone walked away with a dozen Valentine cookies, and I believe they all had a great time.

My plan is to offer a class a month, with each one focusing on a different set of skills for the "adding fun details" part. While I will continue to go over my method for preparing the cookies and icing, I want participants to be able to come back and learn new things if they are interested.

Each class is 3 hours long (at my house in Steiner Ranch- Austin, TX), and is $45 per class. Below is the upcoming schedule:

March 15th- "Let's Sail Away" Nautical themed set, focusing on stencil work, royal icing transfers, and a basketweave piping technique.

April 26th- "Wild About Cookies" Animal print themed set, focusing on a wet-on-wet technique to produce animal print with a flat result. We will also work on monogramming, adding borders, and how you can use the designs for multiple themes.

If interested in taking a class, please email me at amyeliseholland@gmail.com.
